    Hi Martin,
I thought I should point out that in your comparison of the TFSA and the RSP you made a mistake in your calculations. Assuming a 20% tax bracket as you have the initial investment of $5000 in the TFSA would require $6250 of income, not $6000: 6250 – (0.2 x 6250) = 6250 – 1250 = 5000. This makes quite a big difference in the end comparison since the TFSA now gives you 10000 – 6250 = $3750 versus $3600 for the RSP, a difference of only $150, $250 less than the $400 which you originally arrived at. Perhaps you could reward my edit by posting my orange key (33796072S1)? Never hurts to ask right. Rest of the site looks informative.

Yeah, I was a bit lazy with my math on that one. However, the difference would most likely end up being more in the end because most people, especially those early in their careers are in lower tax brackets then they are when they retire. More or less the advantage would go to the a TFSA depending on the situation of the person.

I thought that the money in a TFSA can be replaced if taken out, but you just have to wait a year?
    That’s what ING says…
    Can you clarify?

WARNING!!! Do NOT use the orange key on this site. It has already been used up and can no longer be used. You CANNOT take advantage of ING’s free $25 using it. I opened a new ING account using the number on this site. I thought I was gonna get $25 free, but later found out that the Orange Key was expired. I managed to call ING and explain the situation.

Luckily, they let me use another Orange Key (one that’s VALID). If anyone wants a WORKING, VALID Orange Key go to this site:
    http://ingdirect-orangekey.blogspot.com/

I’ve confirmed that this Orange Key is VALID and WORKING. It was recently created and never used before so it WILL NOT EXPIRE for a while.

    Cheers and HAPPY SAVING!,
    Melanie
